CUET UG 2025 Results Declared: Admission Process for DU, JNU, and Jamia Millia Islamia Explained

The Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2025 results have been officially released by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Candidates can now access their scorecards online through the official websites — cuet.nta.nic.in and examinationservices.nic.in/resultservices.

This year’s CUET UG results open the doors to undergraduate admissions at some of India’s most prestigious universities, including Delhi University (DU), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), and Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI). With the scorecards out, candidates must now prepare for the respective counselling and seat allocation processes based on the policies and timelines of these universities.

Delhi University: CSAS Admissions to Begin in August 2025

Delhi University has announced that undergraduate admissions for the 2025 academic year will be conducted entirely through the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS). The portal is expected to go live in August 2025. Interested candidates must:

  • Register on the CSAS portal

    • General Category Fee: ₹250
    • SC/ST/PwBD Fee: ₹100
  • Fill in their course and college preferences after successful registration

Unlike earlier admissions that relied on Class 12 board marks, CUET UG 2025 scores will be the sole basis for merit ranking. However, in cases of tie-breakers, board exam marks may be considered.

DU’s Phased Admission Process

The process will unfold in multiple steps:

  1. Choice Filling
  2. Publication of Merit Lists
  3. Seat Allotment
  4. Document Verification

If seats remain vacant, spot admission rounds may also be conducted. DU’s most competitive courses continue to be BA (Hons) Political Science, BA (Hons) History, and BCom (Hons). Colleges like SRCC, Hindu College, and Lady Shri Ram College (LSR) are expected to see extremely high cut-offs.

Programme-Specific Eligibility

  • Science Courses (e.g., BSc Hons):
Candidates must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in Class 12 with at least 55% aggregate.
  • BTech Courses:
Admission is based on JEE Main Paper 1 scores, and candidates must have 60% or higher in PCM in Class 12.

DU has also introduced the option for students in four-year undergraduate programmes to graduate early, subject to certain academic conditions.

JNU Admissions: CUET-Based with In-House Online Counselling

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) will also admit candidates entirely on the basis of CUET UG 2025 scores. However, JNU does not participate in the CSAS system. Instead, the university will conduct its own online counselling process, expected to begin by mid-to-late July.

Required Documents for JNU Admissions:

  • CUET UG 2025 Application Form and Admit Card
  • Class 10 and 12 Mark Sheets
  • Government-Issued Photo ID
  • Caste or Disability Certificate (if applicable)

JNU’s BA (Hons) foreign language programmes—including French, Spanish, German, and Russian—continue to be among the most popular choices. These are offered under the School of Language, Literature, and Culture Studies (SLL&CS), which receives a high volume of applications each year.

There is no separate entrance exam for undergraduate programmes at JNU; CUET UG scores are the sole selection criteria.

Jamia Millia Islamia: CUET for Most UG Courses, Some Exceptions Remain

Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) will also use CUET UG 2025 scores for admission to the majority of its undergraduate courses. However, the university will continue to rely on other national entrance tests for select professional programmes:

  • BTech – through JEE Main
  • BArch – through NATA
  • BDS – through NEET

For CUET-based programmes, Jamia will conduct online counselling using the merit list compiled from NTA data. Though the admission schedule is yet to be officially released, candidates are encouraged to check the university website regularly for updates.

Required Documents for Jamia Admissions:

  • CUET UG 2025 Admit Card and Application Form
  • Class 10 and 12 Mark Sheets
  • Government-Issued Photo ID (e.g., Aadhaar, PAN)
  • Passport-Size Photos
  • Transfer Certificate & Migration Certificate
  • Proof of Fee Payment

Foreign applicants must also provide:

  • Passport and Visa
  • Residence Permit
  • PIO/OCI Card
  • Medical Fitness Certificate from an MCI-approved authority

Each university—DU, JNU, and Jamia—has its own admission process, timelines, and criteria, so it's crucial for students to stay updated.

This admission season is set to be both competitive and dynamic, reflecting CUET's growing role in standardising and simplifying higher education admissions across India.
