MHT CET Counselling 2025: All You Need to Know About the Schedule, Eligibility, and Application Process
The State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra, has officially released the schedule for MHT CET Counselling 2025 for admission to first-year undergraduate technical courses in Engineering and Technology and five-year integrated Master of Engineering and Technology for the academic year 2025-26. Registration for the counselling process is currently open at mahacet.org and will continue until July 8, 2025. Students who register after this deadline will be considered only for non-Centralised Admission Process (non-CAP) seats.
The counselling process is open to candidates across India, including students from Maharashtra, and the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh (provided they have valid migrant certificates). All candidates must complete the online application and upload original documents for verification by the CET Cell.
Eligibility Criteria
To participate in the MHT CET Counselling 2025, candidates must be citizens of India. They should have passed Class 10 and 12 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with one additional subject from the following list: Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Technical Vocational subject, Computer Science, Information Technology, Informatics Practices, Agriculture, Engineering Graphics, Business Studies, Electronics, or Entrepreneurship. Additionally, the applicant must have appeared in all the subjects of MHT-CET 2025 (PCM group) and obtained a non-zero score.
Application Fees
For candidates belonging to the general category from Maharashtra, other Indian states (OMS), and migrant candidates from the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, the application fee is ₹1,000. On the other hand, candidates from reserved categories such as SC, ST, VJ/DTNT(A), NT(B), NT(C), NT(D), OBC, SBC, EWS, SEBC, and PWD categories (applicable only to candidates from Maharashtra), along with orphan and transgender candidates, are required to pay an application fee of ₹800. All payments must be made online via credit card, debit card, net banking, UPI, or other supported digital payment methods. It's important to note that the fees are non-refundable. However, students who have already registered for MHT-CET 2025 do not need to pay any additional fee for counselling registration.
How to Apply?
Students must log in to cetcell.mahacet.org and fill out the application form as per the published schedule. Once the form is submitted, candidates must upload scanned copies of original documents for online scrutiny. The CET Cell will verify the information, and if everything is in order, the status of verification and confirmation will appear in the student's login portal, along with a receipt-cum-acknowledgement.
If there are any discrepancies or errors in the application, the form will be returned to the student through their login for corrections. The applicant must then edit the application, upload the correct documents, and resubmit it for e-scrutiny.
Provisional and Final Merit List
The provisional merit list for Maharashtra state and All India candidates will be displayed on the official portal on July 12, 2025. Students are advised to log in and carefully review their status and ranking.
Grievance Redressal Process
If a student finds an error or has a correction request regarding the provisional merit list, they can raise a grievance through their login from July 13 to July 15, up to 5 PM. The application will be returned to the candidate, who must then upload the required documents to support their claim or correction. The CET Cell will examine the issue, and the acceptance or rejection status of the grievance will be shared via the student’s login, along with the updated receipt.
Candidates who chose physical scrutiny as their verification mode must visit the designated facilitation centres to resolve their grievances in person.
After all grievances are addressed, the final merit list will be published on July 17, 2025.
Stay Updated
In case of any schedule changes or updates due to unforeseen circumstances, students are advised to visit the official counselling site at fe2025.mahacet.org regularly.
