Dr. Vandana Lulla, Director-Principal of Podar International School, Mumbai, expressed her delight at receiving an EducationToday Award at the Maharashtra Educators’ Summit and Awards 2026. She thanked EducationToday for recognising her work and highlighted the value of the platform in bringing school leaders together to exchange ideas, strengthen professional relationships and share best practices.
Reflecting on the summit, Dr. Lulla described it as an opportunity for educators to reconnect with colleagues and learn from one another’s experiences. She also shared a message for fellow educators, emphasising the need to create school environments where students feel accepted, connected and valued.
“We really need to work in all schools on how we develop the relationships where students feel part of the school, and they feel they belong to the school.”
Dr. Lulla’s perspective places a sense of belonging at the heart of school culture. When students feel connected to their school community, they are better positioned to build relationships, participate in learning, and develop confidence. Her message encourages school leaders to prioritise meaningful connections and create inclusive environments where every student feels valued.
